How should roofing materials be selected? How can we balance lighting, glare, and temperature control?
Comparison of common options:
Metal roofing (color-coated steel/aluminum-magnesium-manganese): Strong weather resistance, good wind resistance, and low glare. Anti-condensation felt/insulation layers can be added for more stable insulation.
Light-transmitting solutions (PC solar panels/membrane structures/lighting strips): Natural lighting is excellent, but glare and direct sunlight must be controlled. Diffuse/low-glare materials or shade nets are recommended.
Condensation prevention: In humid areas or areas with large diurnal temperature swings, anti-condensation treatments and ridge/eave ventilation are recommended, along with exhaust fans or dehumidifiers if necessary.
Corrosion resistance: In coastal/industrial areas, high-corrosion coatings and stainless steel/hot-dip galvanized fasteners are preferred to extend service life.

Ventilation: Maintain ≥30–50% open space around the roof or install retractable side curtains to create a natural ventilation path with heat flowing from the top to the bottom. In hot and humid areas, increase the number of ceiling fans (HVLS) or side wall fans.
Rain Noise Control: For metal roofs, add a composite layer of sound-absorbing cotton or perforated panels under the slabs to reduce reverberation during heavy rain. For membrane/PC roofs, pay attention to vibration reduction in the supports.
Waterproofing Details: Ensure flashing and sealing at the ridge, eaves, and perforations. Install waterproof casing and inspection hatches where cables pass through the roof.
